Who shall bear responsibility?

life lessons Sep 01, 2021

I'll bear my share of the responsibility.

I often hear the term, we are living in 'interesting times', and yes, of course we surely are. But then, I have been living in 'interesting times' for as long as I can remember - at least since I became a more aware, conscious being. Calamities have visited us since time immemorial, though since the advent of social media so many more people have become familiar with these calamitous events around the world.

However mindful we have to be to what we watch, listen to, or for that matter believe, there is really no longer any excuse to live in ignorance of what is going on around us.

The covid pandemic, politics, and unrest have taken priority in our media - all the negative news. It is rammed down our throats on a daily basis. You may well say, "you don't have to look or listen", and you would be right. But where then, can you get real, honest, meaningful, unbiased news?

The fear that has been instilled by all the negativity has locked many minds into a virus of fear, as was noticeable in some clients. I have witnessed:

  • a young student burst into tears during a conversation.
  • a senior person with a 'giving-up' attitude - nothing to look forward to.
  • people with very short fuses - blowing off steam at the slightest irritation.
  • folks are just generally anxious, angry, and in some cases, desperate.

I thought, "what the heck is going on? Am I mixing in the wrong circles - circles of negativity?" And no, I am not. That seems to be the general atmosphere out there. And that is sad.

I have a theory, based on a few natural principles. I think we feed the narratives.

Let's look at these natural Principles:

  • The Principle of Cause and Effect.
  • The Principle of Attraction.
  • The Principle of Oneness

The Principle of Cause and Effect:  Quantum Theory proposes that our words, which are our thoughts verbalized, affect the world around us. So by our thoughts, we are causing the effects we are experiencing.

The Principle of Attraction:  does it's job by drawing to us that, that we focus on - like attracts like.

The Principle of Oneness:  Mystics agree that we are of one Mind, and as thinkers, our thoughts can be conveyed and received nonverbally, and points to our connectedness.

Thus, by our constant regurgitation of the negative news, we keep it alive in the quantum field and draw it back to us and perpetuate the negativity.

So, are we responsible for the negativity and climate of fear we live in?

For me, yes!

It is really a case of 'if you change your thoughts you can change your world', and yes, collectively we CAN change our world.

So I would recommend that we concentrate on the positives  so that we decide differently and do things differently. Let's no longer feed the narratives by repeating the same old stories. Let's 'ban' the negative news and negative discussions, and start focusing on the good and the beauty around us. There is plenty to see if we choose to.

Idealistic? Maybe. We can but try. It only starts with one.

Will you?

Here are  five 'feel-good' suggestions you can practice:

  • Steer clear of the negative news and negative discussions.
  • Make a point of entering a room with a smile.
  • Lift the 'vibes' when you feel the conversation is  going downhill.
  • Share happy thoughts and experiences.
  • Go into the garden or anywhere in nature and experience the gift of beauty and perfection offered to us.
  • Let Your Light Shine!
